Rakiraki Ramen on Convoy is an incredible spot for ramen lovers! The ramen here is amazing and the ambiance makes you feel like you always want to come back. Their spicy miso broth is absolutely divine and a must-try. However, I had to give this place 4 stars because it felt like we were forgotten after we ordered. The waiter may have been new, but checking back in with clients after they order could easily elevate this place to a 5-star experience. Overall, a fantastic place for ramen with just a bit of room for improvement in the service.

I like this place! I can come here with my vegetarian friend since they have a vegan menu. The ramen noodles here are so delicious.

I feel other reviewers factor external considerations into their ratings, I do not. However, this is important: unless you can see multiple available parking spaces, do not enter the parking lot next to the restaurant. It is a labyrinth. Instead, park elsewhere and walk. What brings me here are the house special mochi noodles. These are not traditional ramen noodles but are made from glutinous rice, resulting in a thicker and chewier texture compared to traditional wheat flour noodles. While I still enjoy traditional noodles, these offer a unique experience if you haven't tried them before. Both the chicken and pork-based broths are excellent, and there is a wide variety of creative ramen choices. The sushi is also commendable. They serve Japanese fried chicken (karaage), which is decent, though there are better options nearby. This is one of the busiest restaurants in the area. The service is friendly but not very personal, and it can be slow at times. Expect to wait a minimum of 30 minutes during peak hours, and sometimes even longer. The atmosphere is loud and bustling, but generally enjoyable. ---

Finally tried this ramen place and it was pretty good. We went on a Sunday evening and it was busy but we were seated right away. The place is pretty big. Our server was on point and it did not take long to get our food. I liked that it is basically 3 restaurants in one: ramen, fried chx and vegan. We are meat eaters but our friends are vegans and they really like this place. We ordered the fried gyoza and ramen. My husband's ramen had chicken and mine was pork. They were good. The broth was almost creamy and it was good. The noodles were the best part. The gyoza were big and very good. That was almost better than the ramen in my opinion. I would try it again.

Wonderful ramen joint. I have been going here for a while and it has never failed to disappoint. I usually got the classic tonkotsu and it is really great. The service is also great, they are very accommodating for all of your needs and even though the restaurant is always busy they always are sure to answer any questions. Regarding the ambiance of the restaurant, it is really nice and clean. Although as mentioned before, the restaurant is usually very crowded with at least a 20 minute wait if you want to go get dinner. Parking is very difficult to find so that is always something to watch out for when visiting. Overall, I would highly recommend getting dinner here. Convoy is a great area to get food and you can get dessert right after at a nearby restaurant. Be prepared to wait a little.

Hands down some of the best ramen in SD! Being open late, they're our go-to after a night out if we're in the mood for something warm. I always always get their Red Edition Ramen: Jukusei Fermentation. It's literally comfort (with a bit of a kick) in a bowl! Amazingly decadent broth, springy and thick noodles, and tons of toppings (they're not shy about loading up your bowl). My favorite part has to be their thick garlic chips sprinkled on top. SOOO yummy! Absolutely worth having to deal with some gnarly breath afterwards.

Rakiraki Ramen is one of our go-to ramen locations in San Diego. It is always busy; however, the waits are short (if at all) and the service is fast. Parking can sometimes be challenging in the parking lot; however, there is a nice amount of additional parking on the side street. They have a nice variety of ramen and sushi choices. We have tried most items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The wife's favorite is the original tomcatsu with organic chicken. My favorite is the curry chicken ramen. We have been delighted with each dish ordered. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. Stop by and enjoy the experience.

Super yummy ramen!!! I got the spicy miso tonkotsu ramen and the spicy garlic edemame, and they were both delicious!!! The ramen noodles are very filling and don't feel too thin like other ramen places. The spicy garlic edemame was for sure spicy, but also super garlicky! Service was great, our waiter went by our table of 6 to check on us often and the food came out in a timely manner. The place is a bit small but they have plenty of tables. Parking does suck because of the area, so make sure you give yourself enough time for that. I found a spot on the street a few blocks down because their shared lot was packed.

My ultimate favorite ramen spot. I've been coming here since I was in high school and I don't think I've found a much better ramen shop. Although it can get a bit crowded and the space is pretty tight, the food will never disappoint. They've expanded quite a bit and so have their menu items! We recently visited and ordered the JCK's Chick-n-Chips for our starters and got it with mild sauce. It closely aligned with an Asian-style BBQ sauce if you were to get it from any chicken/wing place. The chicken itself was ginormous and very filling, I'd say this would be good for 2-3 people sharing as an appetizer. We also got the Black Edition Ramen and the regular Tonkotsu Ramen. The Black Edition Ramen has a fermented ingredient that slightly differentiates it from the regular Tonkotsu, but wasn't far off so if you've ever wanted to try it, please do! Their broth is so rich and never too salty, the chashu is charred to perfection and the mochi noodles are the star of the show!
